Director Enterprise Analytics - Business Analysis and Planning

    Job Summary
    The Director, Enterprise Analytics directs the business, clinical and operational analysis and business intelligence functions for the enterprise. Through the build out of an enterprise-facing analytic practice that develops analytic solutions and supports decision makers through an appropriate interpretation and understanding of results that enables informed decision-making, the overall analytic intelligence for NHRMC is elevated. Primary responsibility for setting the enterprise analytics strategy and vision at NHRMC, along with managing the day-to-day operations of the analytics team. Responsible for all strategic, tactical, operational, financial, human and technical resource managerial responsibilities associated with the following functional areas: 1) data preparation and integrity (sourcing, acquisition, integration), 2) data warehousing, 3) reporting, analytics, and data exploration, 4) information delivery (portals, mobile), and 5) competency center or center of excellence. This individual will lead both their direct and matrix-based teams by establishing and executing a vision for the delivery of information and analytics platforms and solutions to NHRMC's key stakeholders, including internal staff, partners and clients. This position will be ultimately responsible for helping transform NHRMC into a data-driven organization where actionable insight to improve patient care and overall operations is enabled.

    Primary Job Duties
  • Develops the vision and business case for NHRMC's analytics program and leads the team, in alignment with NHRMC's strategic priorities, to meet the analytic and knowledge needs of our stakeholders/customers. Provides analytics delivery thought leadership.
  • Owns and directly shapes the analytics strategy, organizational structure, technical architecture, and budget
  • Works to ensure clear understanding of all stakeholders and ensures alignment between relevant tasks and the organizational priorities.
  • Promotes NHRMC's analytics program to executives and other managers and clearly communicates the strategic value of information (business) intelligence and develops and implements the marketing and communications for the analytics program at NHRMC
  • Displays subject matter expertise and experience with Information Intelligence technologies and their application to clinical and business problems. Develops and implements analytic solutions that enable consistent and reliable customer-facing functionality that advances NHRMC's strategic initiatives and overall offerings.
  • Implements and directs transparent processes that aligns and prioritizes analytics initiatives, as well as enables sound data governance, management and quality.
  • Works with data architects to create a high-level, enterprise architecture to support a growing portfolio of analytics applications
  • Hires and oversees analytics program and staff
  • Interfaces with IT, Senior Leadership, project/program sponsors, and steering committees and serves as liaison between the other support areas with subject matter expertise and their respective analytics teams (i.e., Clinical Outcomes, Finance, Strategic Planning, etc.)
  • Partners with and advises senior, clinical/operational leadership on opportunities to define clear key performance metrics/indicators, close performance gaps and reduce the total cost of care delivery
  • Partners with IT, clinical/operational units and support departments in developing high performing project teams based on defined metrics
  • Establishes, maintains and promotes consistent methodology for analytics deployment
  • Monitors the IT and analytics marketplace of new trends, technologies and potential benefits
  • Prepares and manages capital and expenses for NHRMC's analytics program
  • Organizes and performs work effectively and efficiently
  • Demonstrates a daily commitment to the values and standards of the department and the organization
  • Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations in dealing with all members of the team

  • Essential Job Specifications
  • Education:BS/BA in Computer Science, MIS, Business or other related field.Masters Degree in Health Administration or Business preferred.
  • Licensure / Certifications:None.
  • Experience:
  • 7+ years experience in project management in a large, matrix organization
  • 10+ years working in the field of data warehousing and Business Intelligence
  • Knowledge in all technical aspects of Business Intelligence including data modeling, Export, Transform and Load (ETL) processes relational database management systems, data storage, metadata / data management, database security, and On Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) tools
  • Proven track record of delivering successful Business Intelligence projects that add significant value to the business
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with a diverse group of people at all levels in both IT and business
  • Must have expert understanding and experience with building and deploying Business Intelligence and analytics applications
  • Experience in healthcare is desired but not required
  • Exceptional technology knowledge and experience in data warehouse methodologies and BI practices, including data management, data integration and analytics system architecture
